Photo shows the completed Phase 1 of the Malasin-Bantugan Bridge, which readies it for the succeeding continuing phases. Phase 1 was  contracted by the municipal government to Kenwood Construction and was supposed to have been completed by the end of 2009, but was delayed due to the damage wrought by supertyphoons Pepeng and Ondoy on the worksite, equipments and delivered materials.

The succeeding phases leading to the completion of this major link bridge is made possible through the recent approval of an additional budget by the Sangguniang Bayan.  Kudos, too, to the six (6) western barangays (Bantugan, Nantangalan, Maambal, Castaño, Haway, Malokiat) which bonded together to augment the municipal fund reserved for the purpose.

It is to be remembered that Mayor Emma Chan pledged the completion of the construction of the Inoman, Malokiat, and Malasin-Bantugan Bridges, the 3-storey Civic Center, and the expansion of the Public Cemetery before her term runs out in June. As of this time, Inoman and Malokiat Bridges had been completed, and the other projects have kept up with the schedule.
