On Wednesday February 24, 2010, Election Officers III of Pozorrubio and Urdaneta City, Nelly Valera and Miguel Bautista respectively, joined forces to explain the intricacies of the new automated voting system to the DepEd principals, headteachers, teachers and all other interested persons. They showed it was not so intricate after all.
It was just a matter of paying close attention to the required process, of correct shading, proper insertion of ballot forms, and punching the right buttons. Also, not to worry; in case of power interruption, the Precinct Count Optical Scanner (PCOS) is equipped with a 16-hour charged battery. And for everybody’s information, Pozorrubio has full internet access; hackers may only delay or slow the process, but they cannot stop the transmittal.
